Just smile and wave burka, dumb dumbs like us aren't meant to know or understand some things. The technical 'doo dar' side to computers is one of them.
Having said that though, some times you can baffle people into thinking you know what your on about by using complex sounding words like 'inverted gravity difuser' and 'twin spondex' fitted to the 'calcastatic manaflexa'. Some times even, if you can remember them, terms like: "Its leaking deoxyribonucleic acid from the twin spondex!" People will be too bamboozled by the big fancy words to realise that, essentially, 'D.N.A.' can not really leak from something that, in the strictest sense of reality, does not exist.

I feel so much better for having said all that ;D

Hi Trog,

With your fluid flow rate of 2 gpm = 0.126 l/sec how much heat do you have to reject (watts)? Do you have any info on the fluid transfer media. specific latent heat properties of it, or a link that I can follow to check this stuff out

well i was going to use distilled water + 10% Pentosin G11.

while i was out looking for a data sheet i found that theres a G12+, and it's purple (which suits me a heap more than blue G11 or pink G12) so i think ill have a look into that

G12+ Datasheet

anyway, it will still be Distilled water + 10% (unless someone can convince me differently)

apparently my current CPU (E6320) is a 65W jobbie and the chipset (975X) is 13.5W.
so a bit shy of 80W (+pump) of heat on a radiator thats supposed to dissipates ~450W @2GMP

god i love overkill ;D

cant for the life of me find a thermal output for my GPU (7900 GT) but i think we can safely assume that there is an equally rediclous amount of overkill there as that radiator is supposed to dissipates ~300W @2GMP

mind you there is something to be said for havening a 36º CPU load temp on a 20-somethingº day

apperently the new GPU has a TDP of 147W @ stock :o

and people are throwing around numbers like 10% overclock = +10% TDP

so im glad this is on the exaust, i would hate to dump 150W into the case

small update.

Made a template for the bottom rad using an A3 photo copier.
got the weirdest look when i showed them what i wanted to copy.

cut out the fin area of the stencil, folded it in half and attached it along the center line with little bits of duct tape.

gave it a quick bang of the ol spray putty (paint tends to run / soak the paper)

and vola!
