 The Orange Box
« Thread Started on Dec 27, 2007, 9:48pm »

I was a bit sceptical at first about this, why would they bundle 5 games in the same box for the one price. BECAUSE THEY ARE CRAZY that's why, but when I registered it online there were 2 more games waiting to be downloaded and installed via steam. MENTAL!! So for the purchase of The Orange Box, you will get Half-Life 2, Half-Life: Episode 1, Half-Life: Episode 2, Half-Life: Lost Coast, Portal, Team Fortress 2, and Peggle Extreme! Needless to say I've been playing alot of them all, besides episode 1&2, having never played HL2 myself. At least now I know what all the fuss was about. All the games run fully maxed out on my 7600 GT, getting 400+ fps running 2 displays with the same res, very impressed I must say. TF2 looks like a great bit of fun(no glitchiness Trog), and Portal truly a nice piece of work. This would have to be the must have purchase of this year and next. Heard of The Black Box or is that just another rumour?

Valve planned on releasing an additional compilation entitled The Black Box, which would have contained only the new material (Episode Two, Portal, and Team Fortress 2), exclusively for the PC, but was later canceled for retail, and will only be available through Steam to owners of the ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT graphics card. These owners receive a voucher for a free copy of The Black Box through Steam which can only be transferred along with the graphics card.
